Overview
Tantalum is a easily formed ductile metal that is highly resistant to corrosion and high temperatures. It’s chemically non-toxic and inert with an approximate melting point of 3017° Celsius. These combined properties make Tantalum a desirable element in a pure form as well as an alloy. Tantalum has a gentle effect on the body as well as being resistant to deformation and corrosion, so it’s often used for surgical instruments and implants. This information is provided by Eagle Alloys.
