Milling
Positional and Dynamic 5 Axis Machining
There are three types of machines for 5 axis machining. A swivel head with rotary table is good for heavier parts, a vice can be added for greater versatility because of the large table size and there’s extra space to set up for a second operation on the same table or to do the 3-axis work. This type of machine offers good chip control and fewer tool interference issues. An integrated trunnion table machine offers better undercut capability. The trunnion rotates -30/+110 degrees versus a +92-degree rotation on the swivel head design.
This style facilitates larger work volume, and because the spindle is stationery and belt driven, you can get more torque at lower RPMs. A traveling column machine provides the best rigidity. Because the table is mounted directly to the machine base, it is more stable and less prone to movement allowing it to retain accuracy and repeatability at the highest level.
3 Axis High Speed Drilling and Tapping
Simple and efficient by design, these machining centers are perfect for precise, fast, repeated machining processes. The focused drilling and tapping design maximize the efficiency and threading speed with the ability to drill into harder materials. These machines are ideal for parts with multiple, deep, or threaded holes and they are fast, flexible and offer reduced cycle times.
Turning
Up to 9 Axes With Live Tooling:
The primary function of a CNC turning center is to rotate or turn a workpiece that is usually rod but can be other shapes like bar, or hex. The workpiece is held in the chuck, which spins at an RPM; the machine tools are of different sizes and shapes and materials and move against this spinning material to create the desired shape.
Feeds and speeds and RPM required must be specified according to the material and the cut and the tool. The programmer imports a stp file from the CAD model to create paths to run the numerical controls of the CNC equipment. Our machines have various tooling options, spindle options, speeds, and power capabilities to support a wide variety of machining requirements. More axes and live tooling allow for more complexity with fewer set ups.
