Overview
PEEK is an abbreviation for PolyEtherEther-Ketone, a high performance engineering thermoplastic. PEEK material offers chemical and water resistance similar to PPS (PolyPhenylene Sulfide), but can operate at higher temperatures. It can be used continuously to 480°F (250°C) and endure exposure to hot water or steam with no distortion, corrosion or galling. For hostile environments, PEEK is a the performance material of choice to fluoropolymers. Carrying a V-0 flammability rating and exhibiting very low smoke and toxic gas emission when exposed to flame. It combines exceptional wear, chemical and moisture resistance with very high strength, dimensional stability and stiffness. Unreinforced PEEK (Unfilled) is general purpose grade and offers the highest elongation and toughness of all PEEK grades while being easily machined to precise tolerances.
