Learn More About Glemco

Where we started, what keeps us focused and how we can help your business.

Michael Davenport
July 7, 1945 – April 6, 2019
Glemco was founded in 1978 in Leander, Texas, by Michael Davenport. Michael was an inventor, a visionary, and he created a company that is centered around manufacturing expertise and creative problem solving. He was a pioneer, literally starting his business with almost nothing but his wits, a couple of pieces of manual equipment and strong desire to find his own way.  Michael was very family-oriented, the name of the company is an acronym of his children’s names; he was a good person who always treated the people who worked for him as he would treat his own family. Even as a small business struggling to pay the bills, Michael recognized the importance of mental health and employees have always been supported with paid time off. We are proud to have offered our employees affordable health insurance continuously for the last 20 years. It wasn’t always easy to do the right thing, but it is the bedrock belief of the company that he created:  you succeed when you take care of your own. He felt this way about his employees and our customers, equally, believing that you couldn’t have happy customers without happy employees. Customer service has always been paramount.

We believe investing aggressively in our business, technology and people yields the best long-term results for our company, and our customers. We will apply our experience and knowledge to thoughtfully identify ways to help our customers win new business or become more profitable.

Our Mission

Liana is the Director and CEO of Glemco. She’s the oldest daughter of Michael Davenport and worked by his side for 20 years, learning and growing along with the company. As a small family business, it was necessary for her to contribute to the growth in many different ways; this broad, hands on education enabled her to acquire a depth of knowledge of the business that can only be possessed by someone who quite literally grew up in a machine shop. Liana achieved leadership of the business in 2009 and assumed ownership of the business in 2016. She’s proud to continue to build on the strong foundation of moral, professional and creative excellence that defines Glemco, ensuring that we remain dedicated to the success of the people and the companies with which we work.

David is the Director of Sales and New Product Development. Joining Glemco’s engineering team in late 1998, David quickly revealed his talents as an astute and intrinsically talented contributor to the company’s Design-for-Manufacturing business model. His ability to break down complex design issues and communicate them meaningfully to the customer and to our manufacturing team propelled him to Director of Sales and New Product Development in 2009, where he continues to serve his customers with integrity and talent. David believes that the relationship with the customer is the most important part of his job, and it is that commitment to the customer that has driven his success in building long term business with customers around the world.

Melissa joined Glemco in January of 2019 as Operations Manager with over 25 years of experience in Operations. Previously she served as Sr. Materials Manager at Entegris, a global provider of products used in the semiconductor fabrication process, where she oversaw planning, purchasing, inventory control and logistics for more than six years with responsibilities that covered plants in both Texas and Connecticut. Prior to Entegris, she served in several roles in Sales and Procurement at Siemens, a global powerhouse specializing in infrastructure and industry solutions. She also managed large outsourcing projects, established a new inside sales team from the ground up and improved relationships with the Distributor network during a challenging economic time. She began her career in the medical device industry in 1995, working in operations roles for companies like Intermedics, Sulzer and Encore Medical. In 2006, she moved into the traffic industry with Siemens before moving into the semi-conductor industry in 2012.

Brian joined Glemco in 2017 as the Senior Manager of Technology Services and was promoted to the Director of Information Technology in 2018.  He is responsible for using the company’s technical resources and collected data to provide Glemco with a strategic advantage over other manufacturers.  He has over 25 years of experience in Information Technology with a specific background in Enterprise Resource Planning software and industrial IT systems.  Brian previously served as the IT Manager for several manufacturing and distribution companies as well as filling software development and systems engineering roles at ERP and manufacturing process controls vendors.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston in 1993.

Bonnie has been Director of Finance at Glemco since 2007.  She has had extensive experience in manufacturing accounting having previously work for 8 years as Controller for iRex Group (a member of the TyRex Group) and for 13 years as Controller for APV Crepaco (formerly Wight Engineering).  Accomplishments include costs savings through development of job costing efficiencies, budgeting, a/r and a/p improvements in collections and cash flow, and cost savings by implementation of inhouse payroll systems.  Experiences also include working to bring companies into multistate tax compliance and transitioning from private to publicly owned.  Besides working in the manufacturing environment Bonnie has also worked as Controller for ABM Data Systems (a software development company) and Controller for Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau, a non-profit corporation.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Science degree and has had over 40 post-graduate hours in the field of accounting.
